Werewolves, Kumbi and Other Fun stuff

Well a very productive weekend and it say plenty of experience at things that were not so productive.

On Friday night, I enjoyed most of my evening at Hectors in Cold Field I. I was just about to head to Zombies when a player on my buddy list reminded me that on Friday and Saturday nights it tends to be crowded, so I just stayed where I was. Zombies aren't going anywhere. I made somewhere around 30% on Friday alone - despite showing my brother-in-law how to kill a werewolf and dying in the process...

Saturday morning - I joined some of the Aussie members of my guild at Wolf Territory I (more punishment?). There were four of us and while high-paced and fun - it is still very stressful for me to be there... I managed to gain 1.3% while there, but in the process used 73 unagi... so I was losing money at a decent clip...

Saturday night was more hectors at Cold Field I. This screen is quickly becoming a favorite of mine at my current level and the only detraction is the number of people passing through. Usually though, I don't have to compete for the screen, which is nice. Of course, the drops that I've been getting are probably some of the reason why I like it so far. But more on that in a minute.

Sunday morning, I again joined some of the Aussie members of my guild - this time to work at Garden of Yellow II (mixed jr and big Lioners). With the three of us there - we absolutely crushed the opponents, but it really wasn't a good exp rate for me, so after gathering 100 horns and 100 tails, I set back to Orbis and eventually back down to Hectors. When I played for a short while that night, I stayed at Hectors for the duration, partying for a brief few minutes with the sin that I party with on occasion.

So I mentioned I had a decent weekend for drops. This is all since my last update - so a total of ~60% of progress:

3 sets of Kumbis, 60% Overall for Dex (finished Scadur's New Fur Coat), 60% Cape for Dex, 10% Overall for Dex (trade in of Hector tails), Gold Crow (80 atk - 4 above avg), The Blessing (82 atk - avg) and 2 Red Cleaves (1 is avg, not sure about the other). In addition - I've also received 3 Green Napoleons and a Blue Counter (this last from another opponent).

The NPC value of the equipment I have listed to sell is ~3.1 million, while with the prices I've listed it puts it up to 20.7 million. The new scrolls have a lot to do with the difference too, so I'm doing fairly well. My pure money is somewhere around 8 mil on my main character, 500k in storage, 6.8 mil on my mule and another 1 mil on my mage. I am definitely going to need to step up my selling efforts if I am going to keep ahead of the rate I'm gaining items, but there's only so much I can do...

Nothing much to see here

Didn't really play much yesterday. I was still at Wolf Territory V, so I finished my 200 pang tails and was AFK for a little while. By the time I came back, the sin I tend to party with was already at Zombies, so I joined him there for a little while. He and I were both running low on potions, so we went back to El Nath. Since I was done with my quest, I went and grabbed the sapphire ores I would need and then checked the status of the quest - it still was listed as unfinished.

Yeah - then I found out that I needed 300 hector and pang tails. Good going Dave...

By that point though, Lindsay wanted me to get off the computer - so after everything, I'm at around 16-17%.

In other news, yesterday was the 2-year anniversary of Sleepywood.Net and there's special events going on. Unfortunately, however, it appears someone forgot to renew the domain name - because today the site is not up anymore. I'll have to check around and see what's being done about it - but I assume it will be back up in a few days at worst.

Okay level 61

Spent a lot of time AFK while online last night, so I added probably 3-4 hours to my time, but only actually did anything for about 1 hour of that or so. I decided I would work on Scadur's new coat - which requires 200 pang and hector tails, 100 yeti horns and 60 sapphire ores. I managed to polish off the hector tails and yeti horns, and I finished my night working on the pang tails at Wolf Territory V. When I'm done, I'm planning on giving some of my time to zombies before heading back to El Nath.

I decided to have Tim buy the red snowshoes that I had offered for on Basil. In retrospect after the auction, the snowshoes were adding accuracy I wasn't going to need, so I'm back to wanting a decent set of speed snowshoes. I might still scroll my camel boots for accuracy, or I might get them for speed - I'm still not sure. I might just leave them unscrolled too.

I was a little upset about two scrolls that I had posted to buy were sold to others. One was a 10% scroll off of Basil and although the auction only ended 1 day ago, the seller claimed he had been looking for me since Saturday and that I hadn't been online. So what if I hadn't even BID on the item until Tuesday or so. Oh well. The other was a 60% scroll and the seller just hadn't updated his selling thread on Sleepywood.

Wolf Territory V lists Lycan as a possible spawn. I'm hoping its pretty rare, because there's no way I would survive one of those beasts...

Not much to say other than that. I'm less than 10% into level 61 and Pangs aren't too bad - Hectors are pretty good though. I am tempted to spend some serious time at Cold Path I or whatever its called.

I did an inventory last night and found that if I NPCed everything I have up for sale on Sleepywood, I would gain 2.5 million mesos for it; at the price listed, I've got a 10 million meso inventory. Unfortunately, I think I have to bite the bullet here - most of it just won't sell.

I'm still tentatively planning on making a new helm for myself and trying to get 2-3 10% working on one of the three crusaders that I've got after upgrading them to Silver. That would give me a defense boost, a +1 str boost and a +1-2 accuracy boost. Even if I only got 1 10% to work on one of them - it would be equivalent to my current helm, but with the additional +1 str.

I'm also fleshing out my training guide, adding in some short comments about levels 30-39 and 40-49. I'll be more in depth with the ones for 60-69, but those are also still in development. Hopefully more to come on that front.

Level 61? No - Server Check!

Well there's not much I can do when I am 98% to level 61 and a server check is looming. I managed to run through the last sections of the Book of Ancient - but it wasn't quite enough to get me to advance. No big deal - but it would have been a nice finish.

I started the night at Mushmom, finding an empty channel on my 2nd try. Unfortunately, 2 minutes before she appeared, a party of 3 (a fizard and 2 sins) comes in and I can't persuade them to leave. I still manage to deal enough damage to earn 350xp or so - but nothing special. I had tentative plans to camp there for the night, but I decided it was too busy for that. So I went back to Orbis.

Once in Orbis, I completed a few sales and was contemplating whether to head back to Lusters or try my hand at Zombies when a guild member came up to party with me - a level 54 sin with whom I have partied a number of times. We set off for Lusters straight away and partied straight for about 1 1/2 hours, earning me somewhere in the vicinity of 15-17% or so. He didn't get any drops, while I got 3 for myself, so I gave him the dark pilfer that I got before he called it a night. I got a 3rd bronze crusader and a 6th orihalcon hildon boot. Yippee...

The server check was in another 1/2 hour, so I decided I probably had enough time to get to El Nath, talk to Alcaster and maybe train a little bit. Once I got down there, I decided to bite the bullet and try werewolves for the 3 toenails I needed. Surprisingly enough - I did fairly well, but it did lay a heavy toll (82 unagi and 10 mana elixirs to take out a total of 5 werewolves and the pangs/hectors that were with them). Werewolves are still exceptionally tough for me so I probably won't be trying that again, solo at least, for a while.

This necessitated returning to Cloud Park VI to talk with Corporal Easy, then back to El Nath to talk with Alcaster, then to Floor 8 of Orbis tower and finally to Alcaster to finish things off. By the time I was returning to Alcaster, I was down to less than 5 minutes left, so I talked with him and logged off. 98.xx% - really darn close, but just not there.

The travels through the tower did take a toll on my Orbis scrolls, so I'll need to take some time to get some more the next time I'm in Orbis. Since I'm down in El Nath anyway though, I might just head on over to Zombies and try my hand at them. If I can party with that sin again, that would be even better I would think.

In buying and selling news, I've started picking up Glove Attack scrolls to try to scroll my own glove. The ones I've picked up so far were pretty cheap, so if I decide later that I need the money I should have little problem breaking even or coming out a little ahead when taxes are figured in. I'm still on the slight side of funds though - with only ~15-17 mil in hard cash and too many items to sell. I'm sure I'll be NPCing the extra Orihalcon boots if a buyer doesn't turn up soon though.

Not much to report

Busy weekend overall coupled with a cold to just bug the heck out of me and splintered with my kids not behaving and staying awake until all hours of the night... yeah - I didn't get much done this weekend either in game or in real life.

I've finished a couple of key quests that I was working on, and in working on another I managed to get myself killed - which set me back quite a bit. I did get a few more trades done - not the least of which is my boots which are really cool...

Other than that - not much to report:

Taurospears still suck

Red Drakes are still a little too powerful to take down.

Mushmom is rediculously easy now.

Oh - and I spent 5 minutes working on my wizard too and still haven't managed to get him to level yet... (I think he's at 95% or so now).
